cferman
has anyone tried utilizing surfaces from civil 3d yet? When I import the xml file it gives me a mesh that I can't edit. And it also is not viewable in wireframe??
cferman
I only did this once but I just used file link manager in Max to attach the dwg file. Give it a go. When you did this were you utilizing a graded surface created from civil 3d or just linework?
Astriti
HI, I used one trick once.... here it goes I imported Landxml into 3ds max design 2009 then I created a plane aproximately to my terrain size a placed little bit higher than land xml in z-direction than I used Create (panel)-Compound object-CONFORM comand button than I projected this plane into my existing Landxml (it takes some minutes for max to do this) and at last I delete my landxml and I have my editaple poly terrain and I can manipulat more easily and teselate it... and other stuff... *Note: more numbe of segments your plane, more accurate your projection would be* any question on this tip please emaile to me at astrit979@hotmail.com cheers
