STRAT
Hi guys what's the general correlation/ratio between quality settings and resolution size? i mean, the higher resolution you render the settings can be different than for lower res. how does this work and what kind of settings are we talking? i use vray for c4d and want to test the similarities. thank you
monkhell
I think that the quality parameters only means to get rid of splotches and make the good light distribution. I use to get hi-res images with low render settings when my scenes are simple. Cheers

Crazy Homeless Guy
maybe this will help.... not sure how accurate it is. http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=37760&highlight=resolution You reduce the values by 1 for every doubling. So, 1000px wide to 2000px wide goes from -4 -1 to -5 -2 Then 2000 to 4000 goes to -6 -3 This is in keeping with the old IR precalc method anyway. if you are rendering above 4000 pixels, i would probably just render a irradiance pass, and save it for reuse to keep the guess work out of it.
