landrvr1
Hey-Ho everyone! I'm soliciting 3rd party renderfarms for a yearly contract, and wanted to see who everyone prefers.... So far I've got this list: ResPower Used them before. Good service, but way too many old machines. Pricing is probably the best, but the time it takes to generate frames is a bit prohibitive. RenderTitan An extremely confusing pricing structure - no yearly subscriptions. Rendercore Probably the newest machines AND the most extensive (500 blades). The cost is, erm, reflective of this at $12,500 per month for 50 blades. Ouch. Renderfarm.net I don't know a thing about these guys. Any other farms I should be looking at? dbibb
Are you also considering building your own renderfarm? You could buy a lot of equipment for the $150,000 yearly subscription to rendercore. Edited July 11, 2008 by dbibb grammar
Tommy L
http://renderspeed.net/ Nice guy I dealt with there called Blake gave me fantastic customer service and the prices were good too. He was in the midst of setting up the company then, so I guess he's all action stations now. Worth looking into.
jackb602
If you're using Cinema 4D, RenderKing is very well run, and Dann is incredibly responsive to any problems or requests. Jack

We've got a 15 blade farm that's a year old, but is already being taxed to the limit (go figure!). IT is extremely reluctant to purchase new blades, so we in Sales are looking outside.... Oh, and I'm on Max2008 and VRay final build gents, sorry should have clarified that... Thanks for the additional names so far though.
RenderTITAN
Hey-Ho everyone! RenderTitan An extremely confusing pricing structure - no yearly subscriptions. I know that this thread is 4 weeks old, but I wanted to stop by and say hello. You are correct that we do not have a yearly contract but depending on your needs that could either is a plus or a minus. If you render less this month, do you want to pay the same? Are you going to assume that you will render more next month? Then there is the high cost of yearly contracts which are usually prohibitive which is why we just avoid it because nobody really seems to want it. I am sure that the other render farms are fine and I have had my own experiences. However, a computer is just a computer and we should all render the same file the same way. With RenderTITAN, the goal is to be as fast as possible, as cheap as possible, and our service as perfect as can be. Our success means we are doing something right. In reality, our competition is the price of you just building your own render farm, as has been suggested already. However, we do custom billing situations for customers that need it so if there was something special that is needed, just email me to ask and we will see what can be done. As far as our normal structure, we decided to keep things simple and go with the standard price per gigahertz hour. We are offering 25cents per gigahertz hour. (Actually this week we have a 50% off sale ending August 17, 2008 in celebration of SIGGRAPH.) While we are having a sale, I welcome you to give us a try with half the risk. RenderSpeed
Nice guy I dealt with there called Blake gave me fantastic customer service and the prices were good too. He was in the midst of setting up the company then, so I guess he's all action stations now. Worth looking into. Thanks Tom for the kind words. As you may be aware, we have recently upgraded our farm to 3dsmax 2009 64bit. We have been adding new render nodes and plug-ins daily, check out our site for a full list. Also - the free 10 hours of render time is still available to new accounts.
