gustaf.heland
Hello folks! I am playing with the Fry RC demo. But there seems to be no supported way from the developers to ask questions unless you're a customer? So I though I'd try my luck here. I am using Fry with C4D 10.5 on WinXP 64bit. I have two issues that I are blockers for me: 1. Material Display in Viewports: I can't find out how to get a map other than the color map to show on the object. So a transparent material with a bumpmap for example shows up as completely black and there is no way to get visual feedback when manipulating mapping. 2. It seems that the combination of dielectric transmittance and MPDM has some issue? Add displacement to a dielectric material (glass, water etc) and it turns completely opaque...?!? Grateful for any insight or a pointer to the appropriate place to ask! Regards GvH
Fran
Hi Gustaf, Regarding bitmap visability in the viewport, in 3ds Max and Rhino, I place the bitmap I'd like to see in the diffuse slot of the basic materials parameters as a workaround. Is there a similar function in C4D? I'm not having that issue with fryrender V1.0 dielectrics. What are your settings?
gustaf.heland
Ah, good tip Fran. I had not realised there was a new version. The displacement issue is now gone. Not shure about the "diffuse slot"? I have a Fry material, it has no such thing as a diffuse slot. The staandard C4D materials do, but I was referring to Fry materials. Fran
Try putting the map you want to see in the diffuse slot of the standard C4D material of the object.
