Matt Sugden
Hi, does anyone know of a quick way of creating multiple slices across a poly or object at regular intervals in Max? I need to make some uniform grooves in a shape. The object is irregular shape so I can not just tessellate it. And I need to do a lot of slices so I don't want to do it manually if possible. Cheers. alrawli
Have you tried using connect and bridge? I think theres options in these for doing multiples.
Matt Sugden
Thanks for the suggestion, but connect and bridge won't work in this case as the geometry is already made up of smaller faces of non-unifom size, and I want to get an even spacing of slices or cuts across the whole object. Any other ideas?
RobNJ73
Open your MaxScript listener, do the first few slices, then highlight and drag those couple lines of code to a toolbar to create a macro. Then hit the macro button to your heart's content.
Claudio Branch
Have you considered using the Section tool? Do you have an image of this object to post? It sounds like some remodeling work maybe in order here...
Guest nazcaLine
why not a shape merge? draw the section you want, make an array, then attach them all together and pick your geometry you want to slice, shape merge your line shape and that's it. unless i misunderstood your problem cheers Eduardo
