Guest Tomass
Hi, Could someone please advise me on how to add line work to an editable poly. I am in the top view port, drafting in a basic L-shaped roof. Then converting to an editable poly, at which point I need to add the ridge lines. I can’t find a way of attaching lines/ splines to an editable poly. Thus giving me the opportunity to extrude the ridge line and create a 3-D form. Help! Thanks. nelpiper
As far as I know, you cannot add a 2d shape to a 3d object, it's just not possible. I'm not sure if I understand what you're saying but if you have an editable poly object, you can select a external edge (this trick doesn't work with internal edges), hold SHIFT and drag any gismo that is not pointing at you (usually your going to be able to drag X and Y gismo and not the Z). You'll create an extruded edge. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Derek Forreal
hi Tomass, there are many ways to add edges - slice, quickslice, cut, connect. it depends on what you are trying to do. as Antisthenes said, show us a pic of what you need.
