Peterhus
Hi all, I'm doing a test as I need a know-how. I've got a box on top of my plain and my background image of a corner of my office and I would like the box to cast shadow onto my plain without rendering the plain itself, so the shadow is casting onto the background floor. I'm not sure how to go about doing this. I'm using v-ray BTW if that the answer is in the material editer. cheers, Peter
kippu
if you right click and go into vray properties of that plane and specify it to be matte with an alpha contribution of -1( could be 1 , am not sure) then the shadow should fall on the plane without the plane being visible
SandmanNinja
Could you just right-click on the plane and select the object properties and just say "not renderable"?
dpcaltdcah
you also have to check the shadows box just under than in vray properties if you want the plane to accept shadows as a matte object. and check affect alpha if you will be using the alpha channel information. you can change the color and brightness of your shadow under that as well.
