dual VRaySun ?

hi,

i got a normal exterior scene w/ vraysun..

im currently trying to come up with a nice patch of grass using vrayfur but its coming out kinda dark..

using vray object properties n crankin' up the GI for the grass helps getting it brighter but the color is somewhat washed out, as opposed to increasing sun intensity (which over-brightens the whole scene, eventhough the grass is perfect then)..

so what im asking is if its possible to have a secondary vraysun that would only have impact on the grass object, excluding the rest of the scene..

TIA

thx for the replies..

Put another direct light or regular Vray light. y another sun ?

i havent tried it with another light source other than the sun but, even if i do (whether its a light or the sun), how would i make it only affect a single patch of geometry excluding all the rest?

maybe you already tried this, but how bout brightening the grass texture?

maybe upload an image of what your talking about to help us out.

i havent tried brightening it cuz i only recently switched to PhotoShop, which i still need to find my way around (ditching my old companion Corel PhotoPaint).. unless u'r talkin' about going at it thru the Material Editor?

ok, here's what i got:

the 1st pic is my current lighting setup (where i just merged a vrayfur sample)..

on the 2nd pic i cranked up the GI on the object properties of the grass patch, which makes it brighter but it doesnt have as much color to it as it does on the 3rd pic where i cranked up the sun's intensity (which obviously brightens more than just the intended grass patch)..

i just resolved this problem with a double sun

the sky and background need to be mapped to the vray sun object

n how would i do that?

i dont think i've ever seen those menus..

im still using RC3..

It seems a bit extreme to add all that extra GI or lighting when you can open the texture in Photoshop, choose Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast or Image>Adjustments>Exposure or Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation or Image>Adjustments>Levels.

Any of these will allow you to adjust the texture and lighten it up.

unless your particularly after it, try turning off the vignetting in the vray camera properties.

Looks like you might need to increase your vray environment a little, and like said before, having your vraysky map from your background in your environment slot will help (if you haven't already).

yes, i always use the vraysky in conjunction with the vraysun..

results with the dual-sun were almost satisfactory..

looks like im gonna have to work on the texture itself a lil..
