Creating residential garage doors

I would use a plane with an appropriate amount of vertical and horizontal segments and then collapse it to Editable Poly. Using EP's commands like Extrude, Bevel, Inset, and Bridge, you should be able to model this rather quickly.

It might even be helpful to create the plane and map an image of the garage door in question onto it first. By doing this, you can quickly get the exact segment count you need and have a reference image for finishing out the model.

Give Editable Poly a shot. It is very fast and easy!

thanks for the comments guys - i appreciate the help.

i havent got the grasp of EP just yet - i know how to slice :) and maybe a couple more. but for the bevel etc functions - it'll take me a little while. the job is due in a day's time - and i havent gotten to the rendering part yet :(

the client also wants the image heavily photoshopped - he wants it to look artistic :)

so i think i'll fake it for now with a "door" - see enclosed

ignore the surrounds - its very much WIP!
