Two pics.

Hi,

these are two of four pics i had to give the client today, which are meant to represent three row houses to rent for foreign workers who come and work a while in africa.

Finally he decided he doesn't need them before monday. it means i have all the 'week-end' to work on it.

So if you think of some things i could change, remove, or bring to the pictures, just let me know. even if you think about very little things, they are important to me.

Thank you

Mike

thanks very much !:)

means a lot to me.

though i'm still looking to improve them for the final on monday.

if you have any thoughts.....

perhaps adding more ivy would bring something interesting. i'll test that. i'll also test some different skies, whith a more prounounced and deeper blue.

i'll down a little the reflections on the windows.

perhaps the brown on the deck furniture is not a good tint. i'll test others.

and the franming of the 2nd view is perhaps not ideal...

i won't post them in 'final images', since i have always had a little problem considering any of my images as 'finished', but i'll post updates here.

Regards

Mik

Really like the materials and the grass especially, although would it be this full / long around the pool? I'm also not entirely convinced by the concrete overhang reflecting the white roof beams, it would have to be highly polished to achieve this but the texture looks quite rough?

I only have one other issue, the choice of plants in pots around the seating. They seem very small and a bit lonely. I think if you need plants go for something a bit bolder and bigger.

Have you considered maybe a giraffe peering over the wall at the back or an elephant trunk?...!

Very nice image.

Really nice clean image, almost too clean. I think your grass looks awesome though too. Maybe a bit more texture in your walls and yes a little more ivy. Why not do a night shot too if you have time?;)

thanks guy :)

yes definately some good points there.

i'll change the 'too little' plants around the pool for bigger ones, or simply remove them; they pollute the pic... i'll attenuate reflection under the roof, and i'll add litlle clouds.

i didn't understand very well the thing about animals :), but i'm not sure the client will love to see a giraffe or an elephant in the garden :D, and i'm not sure that wouldn't dominate the scene :)

well now i have to make sure my tonight dinner won't extend too long in week end.....another story.

thanks

damn! how did u do that grass? i want some!

i made a 'grass patch' whith polys in max, then converted it to vray mesh, then 'scattered' it onto the base surface....and applied a simple green gradient material.

Here is basic setup for grass....made some screengrabs.

first, create custom differently bended or shaped grass units then :

1) scattered units on simple plane

2) randomized location of units in X and Y axis, so borders not visible, attached all units to form 'grass patch'

3) converted mesh into vraymesh and paint meshes on surface....

hope this is understable....

Thanks bearsign :) !

finally this is a little update....

i made the choice to remove little plants around the pool instead of replaceing them by bolder ones (perhaps because it would have taken me too much time to do this :D). i lowered the ref in the roof, i added ivy, and i made a new view.URL%5D

i would have liked to work some more on materials, especially roof that is not good imo, and on the props (giraffe peering would have been great ), which are not very well placed. unfortunately i have to do something tomorow so i won't be able to refine them. so i have to stop.

thanks very much for your advices to all, it helped me a lot.

See you for another pic another time.

regards
