nisus
Hi all, Does anyone knows how to export transparency in a 24-bit png using ps7? (Maybe a tut on this?) rgds nisus ps: I've checked all the available help in ps, but none was really useful because it did not give me my intended results. plastic
file -> save for web... choose PNG and activate 'transparency' thats it. of course you must have transparency in your photoshop document. PNG uses a real alpha channel, not a 'replace color' hack like with GIF.
nisus
Hi Mark, What you describe is exactly what I tried out, but it doesn't work. I tried lots of different things: * a single layer with the shape not covering the whole canvas * dito + an alpha channel * the whole layer + an alpha channel * the whole layer + mask * the whole layer + mask + alpha channel * ... none of these gave me any transparency in the exported image (and yes of course, transparanty was activated...) Does anyone has a clue on this? rgds nisus
plastic
maybe the problem is that there IS an alpha channel in the PNG file but your target application can't display it. what are you trying to archive?

plastic
here is the result: http://stud4.tuwien.ac.at/~e9926343/test.htm i asked if it's for web use, because your browser may not be able to display png transparency... IE 6.0 isn't. it works with opera 7.0 and mozilla 1.2 i guess that's the answer why PNG isn't very popular.
nisus
Tnx Marx, Idd IE6 doesn't display the transparancy. *grr* Five of my try-outs were giving the desirable result with a nice transparancy already... Srry I stole some of your time, but tnx anyway! rgds nisus
