AJLynn
64 is better at managing large amounts of memory, 64 is required if you want more than 4 gigs of RAM and it more efficiently manages your programs when they are using large amounts of RAM. If you're running XP, the boot up screen will say x64 on it. With Vista... I have no idea
Crazy Homeless Guy
If you can afford 64, then do not hesitate. Having the extra freedom in regards to RAM is a thing of beauty, and a huge technical step for the industry.
ni4417013@hotmail.com
Why many people still use 32x?
kbotnen
Because someone have told them that there can be a lack of drivers etc to 64 bit os's. And that their -pacman3D- game wont run on 64 bit. In the early days, that might have posed a problem for people with rare hardware, but nowadays with Vista rolling out and virtually all processors are 64 bit (i.e. Intel core 2 duo series which is very popular in my country) I guess that its just a matter of time (short time) before everyone is running 64bit with 8GB of Ram But I am 'shocked' over how many people that do in fact run 32 bit on their 64 bit processors, hehe... Even vendor do ship computers with 4GB ram and 32 bit preinstalled system. Which make the last 1GB of ram, virtually useless for the user :/ I can assure you that your 32 bit program will work on your 64 bit system. 64 bit is backwards compatible so no need to worry. If you still noe believe me that 64 is good you can check your hardware vendors website to check if they offer 64 bit drivers -K-
