jad-sw
When i do 3d renders for big companies,,,they ask for the 3dmax file with all the textures in it,,,,but i think i shouldn't give them everything..coz they can render as many photos as they want with it,,and also they can learn my way or lighting and rendering and wont even need me...so what do think ishould do??? is the right thing to give them everything,,or just the final renderings???? Andy Park
The way I see it, you're getting paid for images not files. I have never been asked for the model files, and If i was I would be charging for them on top of the fee for the images.

Kopeykin
Hi, before starting project you should discuss with client the way you working. So after that you'll don't have these situations.
Peter M. Gruhn
> Hi, before starting project you should discuss with client the way you working. > So after that you'll don't have these situations. And put it in the contract. "Deliverables are : 2 pictures." Now, where does that say "model"? Nowhere. Hm... If you give them a full file and they put some intern on it and he makes crap pictures and your name gets associated with them... (your two pictures on the web with your attribution in the corner. The intern's ten pictures are on the web. Clearly the same model. No attribution, but you must have done them. And wow, are you bad! Those first two must have been lucky.) If you are using licenesed anything (trees, people, procedural textures....) then you can't give the client that. It isn't your job to provide them with educational materials for inhouse use. There's a company out there that sells just that. "Here's a CD with a few scenes on it. Just load and press the render button. Perfect. Now you can disect the scene and see how we did it." If they like your work that much they can give you a job inhouse or hire you to teach a seminar.

safrock
where are these big companies ,if in syria then dont give them the files at all, but if they are in UAE like kausys arcedon dipa or others then its ok but ask for more money , and if u afraid of them using your rendering options and your lightning then give them the files with some modifications\to let them know that u have your view ur style they will think that they are doing something wrong,,,,,rock still like bossii and its owner ,,,,,,, 4 ever
