skala67
Almost completed model for an emergency department addition here in AZ. Next on to materials, entourage, and background. C&C along the way is welcome, cheers,
Claudio Branch
Once again, great modeling and lighting! V-Ray? Did you change your render settings? There is alot of noise/grain.
skala67
yeah, C4D and Vray. I noticed all the noise too and haven't looked back at my settings to see why that happened. I think I have an idea why though. Thanks for the comments. Oh and no misplaced mountains in the background wanted for this one. cheers,
Claudio Branch
Oh and no misplaced mountains in the background wanted for this one so you can move mountains! Nice.
sardesign
TJ, nice modelling... try a gradient sky and maybe turn it to a weird color or muted to bring out the model better. i'm assuming once the white goes away and materials are added, the highlight burn should die a bit. Kopeykin
Great modeling. You wrote "...Next on to materials, entourage, and background..." You miss lighting. At this stage you can refine your lighting and compsition.
skala67
Here is the updated (and pretty much final) entry piece. Now onto completing the aerial!! Cheers,
Chad Warner
Very nice! It looks like you've got your landscaping sorted out from the infamous "mountain" rendering you worked on earlier.
skala67
haha thanks, yes, i think i will be staying with the hybrid style (some 3d landscape, mostly 2d landscape) until something else comes along. It seems to yield the best results. No mountain hat for this image. Thanks again for the comments, cheers,
Phabz
Nice image TJ! Quick question, did you place your landscaping objects (rpc) in max or you photoshoped them?
skala67
Thanks, The trees are 3d and are modeled using Xfrog and Cinema4D. The "shrubs" are 2d and done in photoshop. Lots of tweeking with the 2d plants is needed to get the correct lighting and saturation for the image. cheers,
sardesign
looks a bit flat... are you using any skylight to add some more indirect lighting? add some modulation to the asphalt material to break up the tiling... nice paint job on the cars
Claudio Branch
I think your image came out fairly well, but still due a few crits to grow on... The lighting is confusing me. Is there more than one source casting shadows and I see a lot of brightness in areas with shadows. The tiling on the foreground is quite apparent. You might consider either moving the camera around to get a better composition or using a hi-res texture.
stylEmon
is that thunderbird?
skala67
You are right on about the extra light source. It was a last second add to light up the canopy area. Didnt have much time to tweek it, so i tried to make it as subtle as possible......but to the well trained eye. Also do agree with the texture tiling. Nope to the Firebird. Its a lexus. Is more than one lexus called a lexi? cheers and thanks,
