What is it that you are wanting to learn? Is it modelling and texturing for interiors or lighting and rendering? For modelling i would say the best way to learn is plenty of practice, get some interior reference shots and try to recreate them, break them down into elements and focus on modelling and texturing them there are lots and lots of tutorials out there for modelling and texturing. Lighting and rendering also takes time and lots of practice and depending on what lighting solution you want to use there are huge resources around.

Also tutorials are great to a point but being able to apply what you have learned from these to new situations and problems is the real key and ups your learning and knowledge dramatically.

Something that helped me when I was first learning was a book Harnessing 3DS MAX. The most recent version is for 3ds max 8 but the basics are still the basics and these are in this book. After reading and doing the exercises then I could get a lot more out of the huge on-line help that is part of the program.

I had to learn 3ds max on the job and so I used a lot of different books and resources on the web.

Are you a student or learning on your own?

The best way to learn 3dsmax is find 3dsmax job. You'll have good practice and there will be only two options - to learn max or lose your job. If you have a lot of tutorials and books and still don't have any skills, I don't think something else can help you. All I want to say you need motivation.
