AFK_Matrix
Well I have just started using Vray so I am far from an expert. But what Brian Smith advised for Interior scenes on his training is to get the natural light sorted first before putting in your artifical light. For instance in the OP picture you would first setup a sun out side the room shining into the room. Next you would put an invisiable vray plane light where the windows is with the light coming into the room. You should put a plane light where there are windows (includes patio doors etc) in your room both seen and unseen. That is your starting point and then go from there.
