Fran
Hi Giuseppe and welcome. * i ask if is possible do a render without the caustics layers, how can put on or off this option?? No, you can't disable caustics, except by using Ghost glass, which doesn't produce caustics. * what is the difference between several types of antialias, and their influence on time render?? If you mean the Anti-Aliasing setting in Output Configuration, No AA is only good for quick previews and is pretty fast. Default AA is ideal for rendering images 1000x pixels or larger and uses far less ram than Maximum AA. Default and Maximum render in the same time, one just uses less ram. Use Maximum for small output. The anti-aliassing filters in the Post tab are interactive and can be changed in real time either during rendering or once you've halted the render. *about the environment, i can put only a background image without affect on the illumination and reflection of the scene environment?? Yes, the Background slot is for showing an image in the background which does not affect illumination or reflections. It will also not show through dielectrics with any degree of refraction. *......aaand the difference between "importance sampling" and "environment only" ?? Right now, there is no difference. Importance sampling will be back soon.

Fran
You can search the maxwell MXM forum for satin or velvet. There is a mini-tutorial about it somewhere.
