Aquinde
I'm considering switching to Max from Lightwave for my design vis projects. Can anybody suggest any 3rd party books for learning Max with an architectural, rather than a character animation, point of view? Thanks.
xgarcia
Kinda old but, "Inside 3D Viz3" by Jeremy Hubbell & Ted Boardman is the book I used to bend the learning curve. Like I said it's a little outdated but there are some fundamental concepts covered that pertain to architectural visualization only. After going through this book I read tons and tons of information and tutorials on the web. This site, CGArchitect.com, is a great resource for arch. vis, especially in the MAX software area. If you have questions, no matter how simply, just ask. Coming from Lightwave, I can guess that you have some sort of experience already so switching to MAX will be no problem. --edit--- You could always go for Ted's most current crop of MAX5 books. Aquinde
I'll check out Boardman's books. Thanks
Jonny English
Yes, Ted Boardman's books are very worthy of a purchase (check his column here as well). Also the Visual Quickstart book for a simply laid out reference book and the 3DS Max Bible for a more in depth read.
