about correction layers

simple question: how can i make an adjustment layer affect only a particular layer? when i apply the adj layer it affects ALL layers beneath it. i want to apply it to just one layer.

how can i do this? itried new group layer, or linkin layers, but nothing

any ideas??? please..

When you apply the adjustment layer, in the pop-up window that comes up, there should be a check box marked "use previous layer to create clipping mask". Just make sure that box is checked.

errr...no, i don't see this option...i want to apply a Curves adjustment layer, for example, and i just get a simple curves dialog box...no option there...am i missing something??

You need to Alt-click between the adjustment layer and the layer below it, so that it only effects that layer.

place your adjustment layer directly on top of the layer you want it to only affect and press Ctrl + Alt + G and it will group it to apply only to the layer below it.
