THEPRAYINGMANTIS
Hi all, I've been working a commercial project and I just need some advice on how to jazz-up these images. I hope someone can help me out? I included a perspective and a Streetscape/Elevation. Thanks
Dave Oliver
the images look a little flat because there is not consistent level of contrast or intentional areas of light and dark if you were to take the image and reduce it to a black and white thumbnail, would the shapes still read? each little element you put in has area that are very bright and dark. if you start with the building being a light colored thing, and decide right off that the lightest color in all the plants is going to be a few shades darker, the images will start to read more easily right away. then make the paving a more uniform shade similar to the plants. for example look at where your white curb meets the grass. it is up against a black shadow and is a very strong line of contrast that distracts from the building itself. reflections are another issue, but to get them right you would need to set up most everything in 3d and actually let the materials reflect instead of shopping in most of the elements
