PGD
Basically, how do I get it to work with max 2009? The Que monitor can see 2 machines, send a 2009 job to all servers and one sits idle and wont pick up the 2009 job, though it has '09 installed. Switch to max '08 and send something at it and its fine. Upgrade the backburner? I tried on a 3rd machine with the 'IPv6 Maintenance Update' from autodesk, but the manager wont even start up on that machine now, so abit reluctant to do the same on a working machine, even if its only working with the wrong version Dam I wish I had IT support
charter
Are you running the same install of backburner on all the boxes? cos if you are not you need to as it wont work! When you install a new version of max on a machine that already has an older version already there it wont install the latest version of backburner as it detects its already installed, so wont do it for you.......annoying! dbibb
If you're running the manager on a machine that's not part of the farm (we run our manager on the file server), make sure you update the backburner version on that one as well. Unless you run an ipv6 network, you won't want that update. It specifically says on the download page that it is not compatible with ipv4 networks. RenderSpeed
Sounds like the backburner max 2009 plugins arent loaded.
Crazy Homeless Guy
Sounds like the backburner max 2009 plugins arent loaded. This is what it sounds like to me also. We got around this by modifying our registry. In reality, the correct method would be to properly upgrade BackBurner to the latest version, but modifying the registry works also. A quick way to tell is to locate BackBurner in your registry, and see if looks like the attached images. *Caution.. Modify the registry at your own risk. PGD
Sorted it now I found you have to Remove backburner using Add/Remove software yourself, then re-install backburner from the disk. As mentioned it doesnt remove the old version itself like many updates do. Thanks for the replies
