Guest FlaviusC
Hi there Chris. I'm not very familiar with MR,but . Are you using IES sun with mr sky map? Are you using mr photographic exposure? I think your image is too dark and too flat looking especially because it looks like noon/afternoon. Also, you need to work a bit more on materials, put a good bump map for the wood texture, and if u don't have one, desaturate it into photoshop then use contrast/brightness levels, or exposure control (exposure, offset and gammma) to highlight specific areas of the image. but again, increase the photographic exposure ! -there is a weird glass looking reflection on the carpet... -remove the plant which is in front of the mirror Here,I tweaked your image a bit in photoshop. I don't know how good I am at explaining things, but try to think in real world terms.I mean, when you take a real photo in a room,if your camera is pointing to any part of the room except the window, the ISO will be lower (and f-number) and your photo will look fine, but the windows will look very burned (because there is so much light,(radiance) outside. On the other hand,if you point your camera to the window, the room will look very dark but the windows and what's outside will look fine. at your first image, both the sky and the image is lit in the same way, which doesn't seem right imo. Hope this helps!
mattclinch
i think having the camera at eye level would help. 1.6m.
BrianG
I think the camera could go even lower. I'd try 3 or 4'. 5' max.
Chris Potts
-there is a weird glass looking reflection on the carpet... I think it effect reflect bouce from mirror with ies downlight. Yeah, Maybe you right about lower eye level a bit. Orginal 1.65m height becasue as I did measure myself from toe to my eye. I guess Im little bit taller. Ill try go for 1.55m eye level. Thank mate here light list I use:-(3D Max 9) try to speed up render time. From Sun - Mr Area Spot with RayTraced Shadow Exposed front of window use FArea Light with RayTraced Shaodw Rest of light bulb + Downlight use IES light. ( I try fix improve on that later) Enviroment Map - Mr Physical Sky with Logicmatic Meter Outside room, I use Dome with standard light. Soon I fix put image on background windows. Mostly texture use from Arch & Design and Architectural and some standard material. Here attrachment of render setting. Thank for point it out and I will try set it right next WIP.
