navnow
hi Currently i'm rendering a flythrough anim... 3 systems rendered different portions of the animation (i did a resource collect of the max file and divided onto 3 systems for rendering). i'm having a problem..... i got all the rendered images of the 3 systems into one system for compositing and found... > the rendered frames of one system is different from other. > system 'A' rendered images are sligtly brighter compared to system 'B' images rendered (sligtly darker). > and system 'C' rendered images color looks different. rite now... to solve the problem i'm re-rendering the entire animation again in 1 system. What could be the problem?? is it the monitor settings or is it something else which is causing the problem. Pls help.. Thank you.
kippu
i suppose you calculated the irrmaps in different computers also ....if you have to render in different computers then calculate the irrmap in one machine and then distribute the rendering part to the different machines ...then there wont be a problem

alrawli
Different gamma settings on different machines?
SandmanNinja
You can possibly "save" the renders by taking one that is "off", fixing it in photoshop, turning it into an Action Script, copy the 'bad' renders to their own temp. folder, then run the action script on the whole folder. Just an idea.
navnow
hi thnks for the reply Al Rawlinson and Joel.. Photoshop is a very nice idea, which i didn't think of before. But in this case re-rendering was better, as it would hav taken lot more time for masking portions which r burnt or bleached out. and my re-rendering is through, all the frames are fines. --------------------------------- " Different gamma settings on different machines?" how to check the gamma settings on a machine?? milfora
I have a script that copies a 3dsmax.ini file to each of the nodes in my render farm. Just make sure that the 3dsmax.ini file contains the following (I use a gamma of 2.2), and all machines will render out identical frames [Gamma] LoadEnableState=1 CorrectColorPickerState=1 CorrectMtlEditorState=1 InputGamma=2.200000 OutputGamma=2.200000 LUTFileName=

navnow
hi I did a test render of the animation after adding the code to each machine's 3dsmax.ini file and the CODE WORKED gr8. .. Only that the road matl was coming different in each machine.. but after creating another new road matl and applying it.. the problem solved. Thanks a lot Andrew and just wanna know.. is there any other ways to solve the issue??
