Billabong
I just bought the Product evaluation from Modo yesterday and I can honestly say this program is outstanding. I have been a long time max, but I think if any program can make me switch, well this is the one that will do it. Sorry about the outburst, just had to say something about this program -B
SandmanNinja
Hey Mate, Kris was telling me about it before and when I downloaded the demo, I was floored. It seems to render incredibly fast, and it does light different than max? More like Maxwell? i.e. photos don't emit from the camera? Would love to see some WIPs from you if you dapple with it. My brain is too crusty to switch in mid-stream.
Billabong
Hey Joel, the modeling tools alone is what has floored me. I'm doing the shoe tutorial from Luxology right now, but tomorrow its back to work, so I will only be able to work on it maybe two or three hrs each day,but I will show you some wips when i get something to show -B
moodo
i have the feeling there is a wave of enthusiasm about modo around me . a friend of me is a max user for about 10 or 15 years. and there was the day he joined modo. since this day he speaks about nothing else and it seems max is history. i have the demo version but no time to evaluate it. but one ought viewing that you can not just compare max and modo. modo is a pure polysubdivision modeller and max is much more. Limbus
modo is a pure polysubdivision modeller and max is much more. Modo is also a fast renderer, a sculpting tool, a 3d paint programm and it offers basic animation right now (plus MDD import). Off course Max still offers much more but Modo is also more than a modeler. Check out some of the advancements shown at Siggraph that will make it into the next mayor Modo version: http://www.luxology.com/event/2008/SIGGRAPH/index.aspx Cheers, Florian
