ankit4d
Hello Everyone, I am facing this error for the first time. I am trying to import a DWG file in 3ds max. and i am getting a message that The center of the incoming model is located at 180643818'8", 16109040'0", 0'0" You may experience numeric accuracy problems with viewport manipulation tools and during renderings. Would you like to continue? (please see the screen shot) When i click Yes i am not able to see any object in the viewport, but i am able to select objects. I do not know Autocad. Please reply. LukeC
your problem is that the cad data is drawn in real world coordinates but max prefers to have its data as close to 0,0 as possible. What you need to do is go into autocad type Z then Enter then A then enter - this will zoom all in yoru scene. Select everything in your scene type move click somewhere near the center of your drawing and then type 0,0 then enter this will move everything close to 0,0 and then try importing it again into max after saving Another thing to check is your scene units. In autocad type units and check to see what the scene is set to so you can define it on import to max. Dist is another good cad command to measure distances. Let me know if that made sense

LukeC
Not a problem, just message if you have any more cad questions.
mick8
I am trying to import a file in Autocad but when I do so, the measurement seems to get bigger. The total measurements in Autocad is 14.14 meters x 9.75 meters but in max when I try to import it, it becomes 41,405.955m x 17,084m x 4.927m (Pix A). When I click on the Rescale option, it becomes even bigger (Pix B). On a similar CAD file, when I try to Import it, the measurements becomes really big from the CAD file measurements. 3,143.448m x 1,564.844m x 0 (pix C). When I click on rescale to Meters, I get an Import Dialogue Box Popup (Pix D) When I either click on the Rescale option or not, the controls inside of Max seem to act strange. When I try to create a primitive object it does not create where my cursor is and when I try to move vertices, it seems to fly out in the viewport. What could be causing this?
