Jeff Mottle
Choas website down, so no info is available. Any one attended this event ? Anything new to look forward to? Thanks Davis I'll try to get pics and info up soon. Torgeir over at vray.info also recorded the entire event so he is in the process of editing that as well. Antisthenes
It was a user group with non alcoholic drinks at first, never a party though. Then a break some alcohol and 3/4 of the people left. I liked the Boxx and Bunkspeed parties, not so much the Vanilla Ice no show at the Softimage party that was over done, poor sound, and 40:1 gender wise. the sexy women they payed for to spin on the ceilings were fun... Claudio Branch
40:1 gender wise Welcome to Siggraph.
Claudio Branch
Anything new to look forward to? Back on topic here: BDRF Material, RT Raytracing , Proxy/Mesh Switching were all very nice features that were demo-ed. And something regarding a new GI lighting scheme to be released I believe. They are somewhat known for secrecy...
Antisthenes
showed the new Maya XSI and Cinema4d plugins in action. plus the Rhinoceros / Sketchup people where there too. announcements of the future, and a cool shirt that looks like it has a tie printed on it... Antisthenes
Welcome to Siggraph. maybe at this (softimage) party but the actual conference there was a very good near equal representation of gender.
Dave Buchhofer
I must have always used to hang around in the wrong courses apparently Question for anyone who was at last years also, I wonder at whatever advances they've made on the VrayRealtime front, or on the PDPlayer front. both of which have been pretty lacking on details since last years siggraph get together. Claudio Branch
I don't recall seeing anything about RT last year. But it definately looks like it is going to be a huge time-saver though. As for the PDPlayer, I haven't paid attention to that...I am over-saturated...
Dave Buchhofer
understood.. PDplayer is one of those things that you wont appreciate until you start working in full hd At least, i know damn well i would have loved to have it earlier this year. Claudio Branch
I will at least keep an eye on it...one red bleary, half-closed eye.
Antisthenes
PDplayer was awesome. It seemed like they were close to a release from what was said/shown the real time was improved from being stand alone to being integrated into the max viewport. and they showed their new Non-bias v-ray engine
