101er
Does anyone know the proper keywords so I can search the threads to find out how to create an arched brick material? I have exhausted every combination I can think of. Or, if you know of a quick way to make the map it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
BrianKitts
The quickest way I can think of.... 1. create a rectangular spline 2. add a lathe modifier 3. pull the lathe axis out to set the arch 4. apply a UVWmap set to "face" mapping 5. make a texture of a single brick and it will put that single brick mapped to each face. (control the number/size of bricks by the number of segments in the lathe modifier. The more advanced way would be to loft (or sweep) the profile along an arch and select the apply mapping option in the loft. This will create a uv map that follows the path, and then you can use more than a single brick, such as a row of bricks to add more variation to the arch. Chad Warner
The way I normally do it is to create a box the length I need, making sure there are plenty of segments along the length. Apply a uvw map to the box at the correct size based on your map, then use the bend command to bend it to the desired radius.
