RPC Shadow problem

Guys,

 

Im in a fix. been trying to get answers from Archvision about whats going on with my RPC's, but they insist on me talking to them live through the live chat, which means getting up at 1am without access to the machine in the studio I model on.

 

Anyway, a week has passed, and they havent offered me anything helpful whatsoever. So, I turn to my friends here

 

Im going to attach a scene with 1 RPC on a plane, and as you'll see, the shadow it casts is planar. Its all basic MR settings etc.

 

Any help really appreciated.

Thanks again to Justin Hunt, we found it was one of, or a combination of:

• Scene being too far from 0,0,0
  
• No photon target specified for my MRSun (I ended up disabling caustics altogether)

And wow, Archvisions support is awesome. I log a support issue with all the details, I get one back saying "See, I can do it" with a small JPG of a RPC on a plane. So helpful.

Ouch. Can you get them to send you the scene to have a squiz at?

I had a go at that scene yesterday Ky but couldn't find a fix when I brought in my own rpc's i couldn't get any shadow at all. I started a new scene to make sure they where working for me cos I haven't used them in a while and I had no problems. Maybe try a new scene using a box as a plane thats the only difference I did to get it working??

I have no experience with RPC, mate, or I'd jump in and mention all sorts of ideas...

 

So, if you start with a completely clean scene, throw a plane, a daylight system, and an RPC person, the shadow is stuffed?

 

Try using a different RPC character..?
