Antisthenes
what about fireGL? I hear a few of their new cards could be at the top of the game now.
AJLynn
That wasn't the question But yeah, in the recent testing on... I think it was Tomshardware.com... they found the the high end FGL and the high end Quadro are pretty much even, with each winning about half the tests. The Quadro was $2700 and the FGL was $1000. I've started recommending lower end FGLs in my office because they're the best at running Revit.
Antisthenes
Yes, that is what i was seeing at siggraph lots of people running fileGL cards in the demo machines and much lower prices while the performance was about the same.
karolisbilz@yahoo.com
yeah i alsow wanted firegl on my machine but the main problem was that no1 in my country has them....nowhere to buy...and ordering from somewhere is too risky for me....if smth goes wrong i'll be in this huge distance from suplyer and basicly i'll be helpless. so... i'll probobly put 9800GX2 (maybe another1 later on with extra coller and SLI'em together) or just 280GTX OR.....do it the other way around (buy single 280GTX now) and and other one later on and SLI those two, cause i've done some googling and find out that 9800GX2 is hoooooot (literaly), and uses a huge amount of wats and it needs BIG pc case, so as i understood the 9800GX2 is really powerfull but it's also verry problematic....
