Three D
Hi. My walkthrough settings have gone nuts. Basically, the steps the camera moves are too high in existing files and too low in new files and using [ and ], or any other walkthrough settings, does not work as it should. In a new file when I'm using the walkthrough and using the up arrow to move the camera closer to the model it's crawling along and if I press the [ button the camera makes a large zoom forward but goes back to crawling along when I depress the [ button - and vice versa for the ] button, i.e. makes a large zoom back. In an existing file it works differently - the camera zip along too fast with little control for moving the camera slowly towards and object, and the [ and ] buttons do nothing. I work in metric, meters or millimeters depending on whether a site layout drawing or a building drawing (for site layouts we use meters because most layouts are on the National Grid). I'm not sure if this could have any influence on the walkthrough setting or not, i.e. is the zoom in/out step size relative to the working scale. Any ideas guys because this is driving me nuts. Thanks.
Three D
I'm sorted thanks to Wade S on the Autodesk Area forum. It was my Keyboard Shortcut Overide Toggle for your info.
SandmanNinja
yeah, it's to do with some internal thing in Max. Pick an object then press Z. It will bring the perspective right up to the selected object, then you can scroll in and out. You can also Control+Alt+MiddleMouseButton and then push your mouse forwards and backwards - that doesn't seem to be affected by the same malady.
