Crazy Homeless Guy
I am trying to remove Vray from some of my scenes. Most of the scenes I have manged to remove everything without a problem, and they load on machines without Vray with no error messages. However, i just can't seem to shake everything in a few of the scenes. The one element that seems to be haunting me if shown in the attached image below. I can't seem to find what is keeping it in the scene. The attached ZIP file has a scene stripped of everything, but the error message is still showing up. If you have Vray installed, you probably won't get the error message.
Koper
is the file from max 2009? also, did you try to merge everything into a new scene with scanline set to default?
BrianKitts
my guess would be your lights are set to by default to have a vrayshadow. Even though there are no lights in the scene since the preset is in there to make that your shadow it's loading the plugin. create a new light from scratch and see what the default shadow type is. -b Edited August 19, 2008 by BrianKitts
Crazy Homeless Guy
Ah.. I created a new light, and the roll-out for the shadow slot was empty, meaning showing nothing. I selected MR shadow map, and then saved. When I re-opened, no error. Thanks, yo. I couldn't find that one.

BrianKitts
reach across your cubicle and ask travis.... (j/k) You've cleared all the vrayLights out of your scene? open your select by name dialoge box and type vray if anything comes up, delete it. Also, in the customize dropdown for "UI and defaults switcher" in the initial settings options switch that to the max.mentalray (I'm assuming since travis is using mental ray that you are too) and see if that fixes it. Camby1298
Did all that, searched and searched through the model for a little Vray light...and then LOL I got desperate and asked the man...he found it. Was within a scene state saved in the file. Thanks Brian
