dpcaltdcah
thanks, you know what, it's actually not slower, it's faster because it's not crashing and restarting anymore and is actually rendering my animations. but I see your point in general. ;-) I'll lobby for 64, wish me luck. dpcaltdcah
I know, and I still have to render the city separately as well as cars and people each in separate passes and those each have several million polys. I have to have spreadsheets to keep it all straight. it's crazy!
amer abidi
Youve just described my struggle for the past 5 years with large projects that we have sometimes lost halfway through through to rendering crashes in large scenes. 3 months ago i made the decision to switch all workstations to 64bit quads with 16gigs of ram each.. never had a problem since! even opened up an old project, re did it and sent it to the client for free out of good will.. we now have his account completely! =) Switch to 64bit..even if you cant really afford to... it will pay off for itself in no time! as opposed to all the time youll lose struggling with memory bottlenecks on a 32 bit system. Just my 2 cents =)
