hello all,

I've been trying to render using the daylight system (mr) and using ink n paint materials.

The problem is the exposure controller blacks out the material when on, and without it bleaches out the rest of the scene.

Just wondering if anyoune knows a way round this? can I exclude objects from the exposure or possible to illuminate the material or maybe up the gi?

any help much appreciated

some shots to illustrate said problemo:

I'm actually looking at this myself and have had the same problem

Here's what to do-- Cut the mr physical sky from the environment slot and use Log exp control. Brightness 20 Cont. 80

That should be it let me know how you get on?

Here's what I was using it for it's very flexible

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for the reply, I like your scene very much, thats exactly the sort of thing Im going for.

That's sort of done the trick, I'll play around with the numbers a bit more and get back with my results.

here's what Ive got so far-looks like a nuke going off in the night so far, the blocks are supposed to be white and the ground grey..

messy mesh to clean up too.

cheers

I see you still have mr phsyical sky on I didn't think you could have

Just tried it with the sky it looks good. Mess around with the Ink width and antialiasing settings really help to sharpen up the image. I stuck a car paint shader in the the lighted tab although there's endless stuff you could do with it.

thanks toxic- do I need a separate program to recompose or can it all be done in max?

Tommy- yeah, looks that way, thanks for your advice, Im having trouble adding gi to the scene- did you manage to put one in or use radiosity or something'?
