shikodesign2000
Hi, I have a building with cladding material in a large portion of it. When I put the sun object, the highlight is locating only on the top portion of the cladding object part, and the rest is natural grey undesirable looking. How can make many highlights on this object, especially it is a box object, not organic?
shaneis
Could you post an example?
e[dub]
without knowing much about said cladding material, I'd gather that you need a bump or displacement map to go with it in order to generate multiple highlights.

shikodesign2000
The cladding material is used mainly in high rise towers, like in Dubai buildings, it's simply grey metal material, I'll post an example very soon.
amer abidi
have you tried adding a messmooth modifier with iterations=0? assuming youve got the cladding panels modelled individually ofcourse. could be of more help given an example.
kippu
i am sure you mean alucobond cladding ... i am pretty sure the highlight happens around the corner where you have the sun and not uniformly in real life too ...

Nic H
you could chuck in some lights with 'affect specular' only (omnis, spots, vray lights anything) make sure your material is reflective / glossy enough as well paint a quick bump or displacement map as well based on some photos to get it to catch light. or hand paint highlights in PS
