Jeff Mottle
Any of you guys use business card scanners. I always end up getting arund 15-20 cards when I travel and never seem to find the time to enter them all into my contacts in Outlook. Was thinking of getting one of those card scanners. Any suggestions or opinions on the one you use?
Chad Warner
We bought the cardscan personal: http://www.amazon.com/CardScan-Personal-v8-Card-Scanner/dp/B000H1F9IA/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1219855250&sr=8-1 The thing is awesome. It sometimes has a hard time deciphering addresses and phone numbers, but we went through about 100 business cards in 2-3 hours. It has a standalone program that it inputs all the data into, but then you can export that into whatever format you want.
Jeff Mottle
I ended up getting the same one. Works really good. Not perfect and almost every card needed some corrections, but still significantly faster than manual entry. I scanned about 150 cards in 30 min. Now I just have to proof them all and my stack of business card can be thrown out finally. I find some cards (red and black) do not scan that well. They scan, but the character recognition fails most of the time.
