Timbur
Hi! What is the correct way to export project from solidworks to max? My client has solidworks and I have 3dsmax. He gave me like hundreds of stl-files and max couldn't import all them at the same time. Is there any way to import multiple files? Other solution was one igs-file, but when i tried to import it, it took a lot of time and finally max crashed. So what should i do?
Ricardo Eloy
Well, check which files your client is able to export. Don't know much of SolidWorks, but I'm pretty sure it can export to something FBX or OBJ, which would work fine. About the multiple import thing, you can import lots of files, only not at once. You'll have to import each one to the same scene.
lansd
What is the correct way to export project from solidworks to max? I have provided the defacto CAD conversion software to the 3ds Max professional user base since the early to mid 90's, with SolidWorks to 3ds Max the most popular since around 1997. You would import native SolidWorks files right inside 3ds Max (.sldasm and .sldprt) files. The process will always work 100% error free. This forum won't allow me to post URLs, so you can visit okino dot com and review my SolidWorks conversion processes. You don't need a local copy of SolidWorks on your machine to do it. As developer of Okino software I can answer any and all questions on 3D translation, especially for CAD to 3ds Max.
alrawli
We've used Polytrans with a lot of success over the past year, well worth a look if your trying to import files into Max. I think thats what the previous poster was hinting at.
