jorari71
Hi again... I'm still with the 1.9 version of FryRender and trying to achieve my personal skill of illumination. If I put an object behind of a commun glass (from the official material library) and behind this object there is a closed space the object inside (and very near from the glass) is seen as white/grey tones and I don't know why does it happen... But I tried unchecking the "absortion" option from the materials properties and "voilà", all what there was located behind this glass was seen or rendered perfectly, clearly and with its true colors (Well, my experiments were made with only 5 minutes of rendering and the noise was important but I could watch the color I expected to watch). Is this what I have to do? With the ghost glass happens the same. Thank you.
Fran
Hi Jose, Could you please post a render of the issue you are having? I'm thinking there was a fix with glass absorption between vBeta 1.91 and V1.0.
jorari71
Ok...I will try to post a little sample...This will take me a few hours maybe... What I know is with Maxwell v1.7 it doesn't happens but by other way Maxwell I think is slower than Fryrender...Although Maxwell is very intuitive and it allowed me handle the program so quickly enough faster than Fryrender. Now I'm more experienced in Fryrender. So, Maybe a "bug" that has been fixed un the latest v.1.0? Well...See you tomorrow and thank you very much for your attention. jorari71
Hi again... Here you are one original PHOTO...Not render! . And The other images are renders made with Fryrnder. It's clear what is a render and what is an oiriginal photography, isn't it? Thank you very much. I'd like you look what happens if I set 100000cm in the "absortion" checkbox (third image)...I obtain an incredible amount of illumination inside the corridor...More or less the same amount of light obtained with Maxwell v.1.7. But unfortunately I think that it's noisier than the other two: with 10cm absortion and with no absortion. and I don't know if it's logicall with 250ISO aproximately...For an interior scene it's usual set up an ISO=700 (depends on the scene) more or less. In this case achieve this amount of light in the corridor with only ISO=200 (more or less) it's not real...I think. I have tried to position the Sun light orientation the most accurate possible just like in the original photo. With VRay I don't know why I couldn't get this illumination in the corridor. With Maxwell the result was perfect. With Fry you can see... Then...Why I don't use Maxwell and forget the other renderers? Because Maxwell has two problems for me: a).-Soo long rendering time... b).-And an incredible size of the .mxi file necessary if I want to make a "resume" of the render (I should be crazy if I left my computer 20 hours without stopping and rendering continuosly). 400MB for an image of 640pixelsx480pixels... Why I was decided by Fry? Fry doesn't present the problems that Maxwell presents...And a great advantage: I think Fry is faster than Maxwell...Maybe double time. Thank you very much. Best regards. jorari71
I've detected two problems checking the absortion option in the glass material in my scene: a).-Lots of speckles overall on the "white" wall... b).-The objects behind (and very near) this glass become white. If I set the absortion limit from 10000cm I obtain a great light inside the corridor. This is like in Maxwell v1.7. But the problems a) and b) still remain. I'm making a try with a lambertian white material for the wall...I think this will reduce the white speckles... Will see.
Fran
Hi Jose, Are you using dielectric transmittance for your glass or ghost glass? For window glass, you should use ghost glass. If you want it shinier, set the nd value to something like 2 or 2.5. If you use a lambertian white, be sure the rgb values don't average more than 230 or so. Also, a pure lambertian surface for walls usually doesn't look very realistic. I would suggest a 2-layer material with the 1st layer weighted at 80% and 100% rough; and the 2nd layer weighted at 20% with 60-90% roughness. I'm guessing you don't want to move from vBeta 1.9 because v1.0 has no aeronoise. It's not really practical for me to troubleshoot issues that may have been resolved with the latest release. jorari71
I will try with these settings for the glass... And your advice related to the lambertian material...It never imagined this solution!! I can't wait to try this solution... I can't pay the v1.0...Too much money for me...I can install the Release Candidate version from this year...But, if the aeronoise doesn't exist...There will be something similar, wont it? Excuse me for so little size of the samples...And for my limited English.... I hope your advices work...I will achieve the same results than Maxwell in less time for sure. I'm gonna try them now...I will post the results tomorrow . Thank you very much.

The upgrade to v1.0 is free for licensed users. Support for host app's region rendering is a high priority, but as of yet, there is nothing to replace aeronoise. jorari71
I have answered you in a personal message to the question that you have made me... I've got another question about Fryrender: the "efficiency" parameter...What does it mean? If I have achieved more than a 60%...What does it mean? Have I always got to reach a 100% of efficiency? Or this is another feature of the 1.9.Beta version... I hope don't create you headache with so many questions about a version that is not in use right now...Sorry for that but you answer me and give me solutions in a very quick and precise way. It's difficult finding a person with so much charity. Thank you very much. P.S.: I'm reaching a result in my render much better than before, in a 800x600 size and free of speckles of light and in a faster time thanks to your advices in both directions (better glass and better material for the walls).Thank you...Thank you...Thank you... jorari71
Hi all. The problems with the glass and the noise on the walls I think have been well solved thanks to Frances...Thank you very much! But I have installed the RC version and made a Render again to check if it's faster than 1.9version without uninstalling the 1.9version. 3DSMAX finds double Fryrender and I think he becames a bit crazy and makes this in the floor tiles on the left part of the corridor (this dark zone)...Maybe the material is not well accepted by the RC version...I post the settings of the material: any suggestion? This is a try with: 3h30' AMD X2 +3800 2GB RAM. The sign seems to be an emitter...I will download the layer of the texture because it can't be so luminous. And the exterior seems to be burned...But in the real world or what our cameras make is to adjust the ISO in order that what you are focusing can be watched correctly although other parts could be burned. In fact, the ISO is near 700 and I think that is a correct value for an interior scene. Maybe I should try to generate a IBL with a HDRi map... Thank you very much. jorari71
DEFINITIVE IMAGE: Images attached: 1st season:1h:40m 2nd season:3h:33m 3rd season:3h:40m 4th season:3h44m You can see the parameters. There are 2 palm trees in the inner space on the left out of the corridor that bleed all with a bit of green. The interior of the corridor is filled of noise...It's noisier than the rest. And this is a very complex scene because the corridor is illuminated ONLY with indirect light. With Vray this was impossible to reach. With the "resume" option has make me lose the time rendering information and maybe other parameters. The noise is reducing step by step but from the 3rd hour differences are indistinguible... How about the efficiency parameter? And the rest of parameters? Thank you. Edited September 19, 2008 by jorari71 edit the title of the post and update sesion renderings... jorari71
First of all: I remember that I'm updating the images every 3 hours of rendering in order to see how the noise is cleaning and the parameters after 3 hours. In the 3rd image I forgot to make the capture and I have captured a minutes after the start of the 4th capture. As I remember the redendering time it hasn't been a fatal mistake. The conclusion by now is that what I have presented you is that this is a complex scene where the illumination (I like remark this) is made only with an indirect illumination and I'm proud to show how powerful are the unbiased render engines. With Vray I've lost a lot of time for nothing...This was impossible for me and anyway, for some scenes Vray I have obtained amazing results I think that scenes with direct illumination and. The filosophy of the unbuiased render engines I think is the best. Without no fakes and showing all as the reallity is. Between Maxwell and Fryrender I would choose Fry by two reasons: a).-Less rendering time. b).-Less size of the equivalent .mxi file: the .dsi file that allows me the "resume" option is 10 times smaller. In this case, I manage a .mxi file of 430MB size and with Fryrender only 45MB size. I don't like that my Hard Drive stays writing in the Hard Drive during 30s every 5 minutes or so. Regards. jorari71
The difference between the demo and the RC I'm using is the watermark? If I use the DEMO version will you help me? Don't worry about which legal version I use...I don't think I can stablish a competition with you in your work area: 1st).-I don't live near you. 2nd).-I'm not so good as you for sure. But if you think that buying the official version (not a pirate copy) I will became a "professional"...I'm repeating constantly that I'm a beginner. If moderator considers that it's better that I leave posting in this forum she should told me, not you. In my opinion, Fryrender needs that its community grows up as much as possible. If there are a part of the costumers that hasn't bought the product their contribution and enrichement of the global knowledge I think will worth it. The information of Fryrender is really closed and it's very difficult finding something. One of the advantages of Maxwell is precisely this one. Regards. Fran
To be honest, I've been in a quandary on this issue. While I don't approve of people using cracks, I also don't feel the need to narc people out when I find out they use them. Especially if they aren't openly aspousing their use or advertising them. On the other hand, my motivation for helping people who use illegal software is very low. On the other other hand, I don't want to seem too busy or important to help people or answer questions in this forum.
jorari71
Hi Fran: Yes, as always you are very correct, even with an user who uses an illegal software...If I have made copy&paste of my desktop, program, version, etc...This haven't been made for showing anybody that I'm using an illegal program and anybody can't catch me and I can avoid the justice, etc, etc...I said: I can't work now from 2 years more or less, I don't have work enough and I'm technically unemployed...I could gather potatoes or tomatoes or corn but I prefer trying to prove another engine renders. I didn't vote Mr. Prime Minister Zapatero who is sinking the Spanish economy...He's the guilty of our problems...And has destroyed all what our former president earn for our great country...Many of us miss very much Mr. Aznar. He tryed to make the definitive improve in order to set the total measure in the flexibility employ which is cutting the social prestations or the social costs when you are dismissed and the socialist hyperpowerful sindicates make him a general strike. Mr. Zapatero has some nerve when he blame it on the USA...If in the USA knew what this stupid says against the USA...He is like his friends Chavez, EVO Morales, Erdogan, Ahmadineyad and Kim Il Sung...He has been elected thanks to a terrorist attack and has betrayed all his allies. In Spain we have 12% of unemployment and a separatist crisis supported by a reinforced ETA terrorist group with which Zapatero has been negociating anybody know why. 8 TVs from 9 TVs support Zapatero whatever happens and people live in a bubble. The antiamericanism is so strong and is so promoted in the TVs that people live like in Venezuela or North Korea. Zapatero is destroying all international relationships created by the president we have ever got in Spain. Zapatero is destrying all in Spain!! Our crysis has 3 columns: lack of credit, real state and automobile and any of them has been created by the USA. He tries to handle spaniards as an underdeveloped country telling us this kind of key problems come from the USA. He has tried to give the freedom to the worst and most dangerous terrorist ETA organization member De Juana Chaos who has killed 25 persons with bombs and shoots where kids and babys were murdered with calmless and courage by this...¿person?. Now this ¿person? is in Dublin and is free: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Juana_Chaos http://estaticos02.cache.el-mundo.net/elmundo/imagenes/2006/11/22/1164197382_0.jpg Mr. Zapatero has negotiated with terrorists like this. The media is comfortable whit all this. What I know is that in the USA this ¿person? NEVER AGAIN would have murdered anybody...Any child...Any kid...Any baby...Any military force...You know what I mean? And Zapatero and the media empire controlled by this radi'k'al left wing that has devastated all good things in Spain think that these kind of ¿people? are "peace persons"...I hate Zapatero and their "friends" and the caos situation in which Spain will be envolved in not many months...I think that the TOTAL CAOS will soon arrive to Spain. I could telling you hours and hours of the disaster and un-government of these "team of mates"... Please, understand my situation and my enviroment. Hi Brian: Yes, you have said it: "Those who have paid for" but, If I download a demo version: I will get the right to accede to the "interesting" zone where tutorials and materials are stored? Thank you and please, understand my desperation: Spain don't deserves a Prime Minister like Zapatero. Regards. jorari71
Thank you very much Brian. How about is your jobs market in the Islands? In Spain you can spend a lot of money and then you can't take profit of the tutorials and similars. And I'm talking about the public University. In fact, I'm a telecommunications engineer who hasn't found job yet as this. All the courses related with my branch I think are a fraud and are not at the top of the investigation. In my branch as in this area, the 3D, the USA and G.Britain I think you can assume that things are made in the right way and if you assist to at an university career or at a high level course then you get a job of course, demonstrating that you know how to apply your knowledgments. The crisis in Great Britain is so brutal than in Spain? Sorry but mybe this could be a bit off topic... Regards.
