ABK
Crikey! My gizmo's disappeared. It's not turned to red lines (hitting 'x'), it's actually dissappeared all together. the result is i can do z axis rotation in the top view, x axis rotation in the left view and y axis rotation in the front view. Moving is okay but i can only scale uniformly. No idea why this has happened. Please help. antony
A.Mitov
It sounds strange. If I got it right you have move and no scaling gizmo? Can you post a shot?
ABK
I have no gizmos at all. not one. i can perform translations, rotations and scaling but they are very tricky without the trusty arrows. It's killing my. My work flow is basically a full stop.
RobNJ73
Is it possible your gizmo is just waaaaay off-center from your object? That is, if you go to the heirarchy panel, hit "Affect pivot only" then "Center to Object" does it stay gone?
ABK
tried it but no luck i'm affraid. I've tried rebooting my machine and starting a fresh max scene and still no gizmo. !?!?!?
Billabong
Have you made sure your axis is set on view and not parent or local?

ABK
A.Mitov think you've made my day - can actually get some work done now! Funny how the simplest things can be the toughest. And, hey, here are the results. Let me know what you think. A million thanks, Antony
A.Mitov
Don't mention it. Nice japanese style interior. I assume you work in gamma 1.0 because it's pretty dark shot. Try to lighten up the ambient light to show more of the details like the rafters for example. But if the intend was to be a darky kind of shot leave as it is. Tommy L
Try this - go to "views" -> "show transform gizmo" I thought x was the shortcut key for this function?
