TomA
Quasi-Monte Carlo versus Light Cache: What's the difference between them and which is preferable for secondary GI bounces in Vray?
Dave Buchhofer
both have their plusses. if you're doing much by way of glossy effects than you probably want to look further into light cache. i usually just use qmc when i'm doing quick iterative test renders via dr since dr + light cache forces each machine to render its own light cache seperately, and we have a mixture of quicker/slow-as-hell machines on the farm in terms of light quality, qmc is marginally sharper, and marginally less bright than light cache. STRAT
i prefer QMC as secondaries. but, LC can be pre-cached
tayrona
I use QMC in exteriors and LC for interiors. LC is faster but i think is an aproximation of iluminaiton. QMC give you more presition in lighting calculation.
