Playdo
I have started this as a new thread as initially it was put on the end of somebody elses older topic: As seen in the attatched JPEG there is a problem with this loft. The technique that I have used is: 1. Loft A through B 2. Then 'deformation - fit' - B through C 3. Finally 'deformation - fit' C through D The problem is at stage 2, It is not picking up the body correctly. I have managed to get two results out of it. One which misses off a corner (as shown) and one which seems to take an incorrect route. The spline has been brought into max from illustrator. Can anyone see what the problem is? PS. The cross-section A is showing up incorrectly in JPEG - it is a closed rectangular spline.
Peter M. Gruhn
If I understand deformation correctly - and I may well not, I just don't get that tool - it is working correctly. You are asking it to take one rectangle and change its size in a way that makes it two rectangles. The rectangle moves from one end of the guitar to the other and squooshes itself to conform to the required shape but it hits a fork and can only go one side. iiuc.
