I admire the designer on recycling old tin can lids, but how many jillions on rivets did they use to keep the thing together? I would make my own photoshop brush of one lid with rivets, that way you can just go to town with it at different colors and sizes. then just save out a large enough diffuse map so that you don't see any tiling, then grayscale the image for your displacement map. mattclinch Posted September 15, 2008 Share Posted September 15, 2008 i'd say square up and make your base texture tile, then use something like crazybump to take out the base specular, and generate a normal map. displacement would be overkill in my opinion, as its doesn't really displace by that much. jinsley Posted September 15, 2008 Share Posted September 15, 2008 Brian and Lester beat me to it... make a brush in photoshop and quickly render out a large enough map so that you won't see any edges... desaturate and play with levels for the bump map.
