Account Handling

Recommended Posts

Hi there

I have recentley come into a new business (as a designer/technical guy!)and have been asked to sort out the workstations which are in a bit of a state (not working optimally and generally crashing too often). The current account handlers are a waste of time and have been unable to fix them properly, which has led me to looking into other workstation manufacturers, such as CAD2, Boxx, Fujitsu and HP. Does anyone else use any of the above manufacturers and what have your experience been like? If not who do you use?

Have looked at buidling the machines myself but not really keen to go that route because of the issue of culpability, quite like the idea of being able get someone else in to fix it when it goes seriously wrong!

Finally has anyone made the jump to a Vista64 Mac, have been seriously looking into this because I've heard that they just don't go wrong. One of the designers in the office ran one for 12 months and had no down time at all. This just got me thinking about the amount of time I waste fixing PC's both in my new and old job. It does get very tiring as I always seem to be fighting with the PC's to get them working optimally. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Sorry its a bit long winded, a lot on the old mind!!

Look forward to reading your thoughts on this

Cheers

Chris

All the PC's I have ever built have never really let me down, and I wouldn't call myself an expert. The latest quad core has been running for a year, though the motherboard failed, and was replaced under warranty. Silly things like fans & power supplies have gone.

Running Vista64 on this 8 core Mac pro, and its devine. Never had any problems; but its all good (expensive) hardware inside, so you'd expect that.
