Devin Johnston
I’m looking for some suggestions on how to animate thousands of tiny fiber optic lights that change intensity randomly. I was thinking there might be a script out there that could do it but I haven’t been able to find anything. Any advice would help.
RobNJ73
You could put a noise controller on the multiplier track of one light and instance that one out. If you need the lights to twinkle, that is, for the multipliers of each light to behave independently, I would think that it wouldn't be hard to script (at least, not hard for someone who knows MaxScript) a tool that offsets the animation of the noise controller for each light. I can kind of see how it would be scripted, I just don't know near enough MaxScript to know how to reference the controllers and the commands to offset the aniamtion...
