andreav
Hello, This is my first time on the site and hopping for some urgent help!!! Thanks in advance. I have never used 3dMax before and am required to cut this very intricate model every foot both in plan and elevation (done by a previous employee). We then want to turn it into a Cad 2d model to make some construction drawings. Can someone tell me some very simple steps (if possible) to achive this task??!!!! Thanks, andrea Vilanova
Antisthenes
I do this all the time with the section command and or archcut i know i was told not to talk about these tools in the max forum because they are in rhino but since you are new i think it might just be the fastest solution and do you well. if anybody else has a option for you with in autodesk, great, other wise contact me about the steps if you wish to get Vectors from a model section and i could further advise you. Ricardo Eloy
You can use the Section Tool (Create > Shape). It allows you the create a section plane wherever you want and will create lines from the intersection with the model. Of course, you'll need to work on these lines afterwards, but it's something already.
