CLDemployee
Hey guys, this is my first post, well actually thread... I was hopeing that you guys could hear me out and give me some pointers. As of right now I am a student and work as a draftsmen in an Architectural firm, I work with clients and basically help make projects happen. Being proficiant in AutoCAD, but not knowing too much 3D, wanted to get some pointers. Having done some homework, I purchased Autodesk 3Ds Max 9, and currently am searching online and other places for tutorials on how to create a good blend between AutoCAD and 3Ds Max. Basically all I want to be able to do is input my .DWG and create preliminary Models for Clients to be able to better their understanding of what we draw in our construction documents and ultimately end up creating presentation worthy material like what i've seen from you guys, but thats with experiance. So to sum it all up if you guys know any a good links, techniques, tutorials, etc. it would be a big help. Also how to properly setup my software... Thanks again, P.S. Sorry for such a long thread. Tommy L
First step would be to do the tutorials that ship with max.
RobNJ73
Another thought is to take a look at the books from 3DATS. There is relatively little out there that is geared toward learning Max specifically for ArchVis. The books there are the best I've found and run the gamut from preparing .DWGs for import to compositing and LWF techniques.
