Slower Render Time using stored light maps

As the title suggests, for some animation frames I did my precalcs, light cache and irradiance map then when I came to render using the from 'saved file' option, my renders were taking ages, about an hour per frame, compared to calculating the entire lot independently for each frame on the fly, about 8 minutes???

So actual rendering time, I would have expected to be about 4 mins per frame using the stored saved precalced maps? Any idea why things are coming to a stand still?

It's only a simple 360spin of a single small room?

Could it be that there is too much data stored in the irradience map, as I've done every 12th frame, at high setting, could it be sampling too much of the same data and therefore bloating the calculations perhaps? the irradiance map is about 73 meg.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
