Temporary work forum

Occasionally I need things modeled but finding people to do it is always a shot in the dark, so I was thinking we could all benefit if we had a forum where we could go to find people willing to do temporary work. I don't think this competes with the job forum that's already in place, and it would keep posts for modeling work out of the general forum.

The idea of a forum for Arch Viz sourcing has come up before. It would be similar to the freelance websites like Elance or Guru, but it would specifically be targeted to our needs. A rendering project or a portion/component of it could be put up for bid. Anyone could use this site, even competitors.

I have actually tried to create such a site on my own spare time. I don't mean to plug it, but if anyone is interested in taking a look at what I have so far, you can check it out at:

Eddie has the right idea except I wouldn’t want to get into paying fees unless Jeff wants to mess with that. For now I was thinking of something simple, someone posts a job they need help on, anyone who's interested could contact that person either through PM or e-mail with their bid to do the work. Of course you'd have to be a member of CGA to bid on the work, and any bad experiences could be posted to warn others. This would directly benefit CGA members and would also draw from that same pool of talent.

The fees would only be paid as a small percentage of any escrow payments between parties. If you don't you use the escrow payments on the site then there are no fees. You would just have to trust each other on performance and payments. The site also has a ratings system to keep both sides in check.

But honestly, regardless of where the forum is located, if the people that create it and monitor it cannot get compensation for their time and efforts then what would be the point?
