SMR3
Hello everyone! I'm interested in archicad and revit 3d designing. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to send 3D model from one program to another? These both programms are very good i think, just wanted to know how they comunicate one with another.. Have a nice evening everyone!

BobM
I think you can take Autocad drawings into both Archicad and Revit and 3ds Max but have not heard of Archicad to Revit the only way would be if either allowed export/import to each other. I will take a look and come back if no one else come up with the answer.
BobM
Yes the only way is via the AutoCAD format or DXF, but when I tried on a 3d Model I loss a lot of info material as well. That was with Archcad 12 and Revit 2009 if any one know a way I would be interested Regards
SMR3
Thank you for your time! It be really nice, if it was possible to model things in Archicad or Revit, then send to each other, and then model again.. For example, walls in Revit, then send to Archicad and start the roof truss wizard..
RAYMOND
I would have to say no to this.. just stay on one side of fence one always tears their pants while jumping back and forth.. r
SMR3
You see.. I like the way I can set parameters to the house using dimensions and locking them in Revit. Also after the design its much easier to change wall heights, if the walls are linked right with the levels. Archicad pales at this opinion. BUT revit pales when we start to talk about roof constructions and especially the roof truss wizards, where all the woden constructions are placed automatically. Also navigating through the design or lets say FLYING alike in video games, is much better than in Revit so the presentation to the client is better.. I think now it is possible to understand why I have such question.. PS. I must take a look if here is some post, where these two softwares are compared, if not, lets make one.. Jason Matthews
I thought the way to do this was through the IFC export option. And although this is supposed to give the most accurate model there is still a bit of info lost when exporting from either. This is what I have heard, I have not tested it though.
