abicalho Posted February 9, 2004 Share Posted February 9, 2004 It can be normal. It depends on what your scene is. That task is processing the "Automatic" exposure control hystogram. For that to happen, your scene is rendered (internally) at a thumbnail size. Now, if you're using Radiosity, Regather, Skylight without Storing Direct Illumination, Raytracing, Real People, lotsa geometry, etc, your scene can take hours, days to render. And the exp control is just a tiny part of it. So, in a nutshell, start small and add things as you go. This way you know what changed and makes a difference.
