from rhino to max

I started working in a Architect office one week a go and the problem is that the scenes they are giving me are very big in term of lanscape and poligons. The best format I found out is if they export every layer one by one and then save as a 3ds format.

The file is not so heavy than if I imported the file in another way like DWG and I can also work with the file but still very slow, also when I import the exported files from rhino to max there is another problem because let say that the file I am importing has 2500 objects which I belive are poligons I will have to click the mouse 2500 times to be able to import the file. As you can see is all over the place and they want me to start using 4d camera because is very easy to import and the files run smoth on the screen not like 3D Max and I don't want because I like Max.

Is there anybody which know the solution ans can help me to show them that they are wronk and we could do everything with Max.

look up npowersoftware power translators to find a program that translates the nurbs from rhino directly into 3ds max with no 'converting'. it works great and only requires some minor display adjustments in 3ds max. there should be a demo out there somewhere...
